Accessibility Guide
For the Manos Sagrados event space on the ground floor.
BUILDING & GETTING IN
Located at 9975 E. Colfax Avenue in Aurora, Colorado, Manos Sagrados's Event space is fully accessible via front and back doors to wheelchairs.
The front door is located next to The People’s Building on Colfax Ave, and the back door - usually reserved for artists and staff, is located off of Fortune Way, next to a gated dumpster, and by AB Barber Shop. The Back door locks as performers or rentals are loaded in. Guests and ticket holders are invited to enter the front doors.
PARKING
Manos Sagrados has accessible transportation access, with a free, city-owned parking lot in the rear, as well as street parking off of Florence Street. Manos Sagrados encourages rideshare options, but riders will need to be dropped off on Florence Street or behind the building, as there is no parking on our stretch of Colfax Ave. The space is also half a block away from the 15 Bus stop in either direction off of Colfax Avenue.
BATHROOMS
Manos Sagrados Event Space has 2 gender-inclusive and wheelchair accessible restrooms with accessibility rails. Each restroom has one toilet and one sink, and is large enough for mobility needs.
STAGE
The stage at Manos Sagrados is 18 inches off the ground, and has 2 built in stairways, each with 2 steps up. If accommodations are needed, please contact staff.
LIGHTING
Depending on the event, Manos Sagrados may have overhead, fluorescent lights (workshops, markets, meetings and the like). Events such as performances (concerts, open mics,) and certain workshops (yoga, meditation), will have lower light, beginning with string lights for the House, and stationary stage lights. There may be events with rotating or flashing lights, including DJ sets.
SOUND LEVELS
Sound levels will vary by event. In cases where no live performances are taking place, music may be played over the speakers at a low volume.
Live musical performances will utilize at least 2 speakers and 2 subwoofers, though the sound levels will not usually exceed 75db. Live drums will be played at their full volume. Ear protection is always encouraged, but the room does not lend itself to overly noisy sounds.
SEATING
Some events may be standing room. These events will have options to add seating for accessibility needs. Other events will have chairs set out, which are padded seats, and may have up to 70 seats. Still, some workshops will invite guests onto the ground, like yoga or meditation.
